The app is already live and actively used around the world, but we have ambitious plans for what’s next. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with high autonomy and wide-ranging impact. You’ll work closely with our iOS, backend, product, and design teams to evolve the app’s architecture, build high-quality features, and deliver an exceptional experience to our global user base.Responsibilities:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Build new features and improve existing ones in Kotlin</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Own large areas of the Android app and help set architectural direction</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Optimize for performance, reliability, and scalability</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Implement best practices around localization, accessibility, and global UX</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Account for international usage considerations including variable bandwidth, device capabilities, and connectivity</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate across disciplines to ship fast, high-quality updates</li></ul>What We’re Looking For:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">7+ years of experience developing Android apps (or equivalent practical experience)</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Android Studio </li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with architectural patterns like MVVM</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A strong sense of ownership and ability to independently drive features from idea to release</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with RESTful APIs, async workflows, and mobile lifecycle best practices</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Navigation, ViewModel, etc.)</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Understanding of profiling, memory tuning, and offline-first strategies on Android</li><li>Experience with international UX considerations—bandwidth, localization, device variability, etc.</li></ul>Bonus Skills:<ul><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with React Native </li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Exposure to 3D graphics, spatial computing, or frameworks like OpenGL, Sceneform, or Filament</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with computer vision, SLAM, LiDAR, or mesh processing</li><li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with ARCore </li></ul>Salary Range:The salary range for this role is $190,000 – $235,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary, therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
