Misen is looking for a Sr. Affiliate Marketing Manager to take our affiliate program from early stages to over $3 million in annual revenue by this time next year with a net margin of 20+%.

If this challenge excites you, please apply. You’ll join a lean team of kind, smart doers who will support you throughout your time here. Misen is growing fast and profitably; we have amazing products that customers love, and we only invest in something if we are confident that we’ll see a return….

…like you! Our affiliate program is gaining traction and we need the right person to take the reins. You’ll be focused on Ambassadors and Content Publishers to start, and we’d love you to bring your own ideas to the table for how to grow this channel.

You will report to me, the VP Marketing. Hi, I’m Nick. I’ve been here for 7 weeks. From one newbie to another, here’s the honest truth:

Misen sets an incredibly high bar for every employee. It is impossible to coast here. But the vibes are fantastic. The people here (at all levels) care about each other and want to help you succeed. There will be a learning curve, but once you fall into the groove, it’s a very exciting place to work.

Still with me? Let's get into the details.

Who is Misen?

Our mission is to inspire and enable great cooking by bringing incredible tools at honest prices to every kitchen in America. We believe a better tool makes any job easier; our thoughtfully designed and premium-quality kitchen tools make cooking easier, less stressful, and more fun.

Our name comes from ‘mise en place’ — a culinary term that means “to put in place.” Chefs use the term to describe the process of setting up their stations before service. Misen is an ode to mise en place; better cooking through proper preparation with quality tools.

We are approachable, innovative, and honest.

We move quickly, deliberately, and back up our decisions with data.

We listen to our customers and employees; without them we would be nothing.

What you’ll do at Misen:

  • Scale an already-moving affiliate program through a 3-pronged approach:

    • Ambassador Outreach

    • Whitelisting

    • Amazon Influencers

  • Build a not-at-all-moving Wedding Registry strategy from nothing.

  • Manage 2+ Coordinators who are focused on outreach and logistics.

  • Track weekly progress against our plan and make suggestions on how to improve it.

  • Maintain excellent relationships with Content Publishers through product seeding and follow-ups.

  • Work efficiently by not spending too much time on things that don’t matter.

You’re the right candidate if you…

  • Have a degree in It Doesn’t Matter from Who Cares University (WCU)

  • Have 4+ years of managing a marketing channel, with 2 of them involving affiliates

  • Are alllll about that Net Income and aren’t impressed by chest-thumping topline revenue.

  • Have a solid grasp of owning and maintaining P&L—you know how to forecast realistic goals and continually beat them.

  • Know how to keep up relationships with external partners and respond to emails quickly

  • Are always thinking of smart, innovative ways to grow the channel. You love a crazy idea

  • Can tell a story through analytics. You love the logic of math, but possess the art of knowing when and how to break rules.

  • Are not a defeatist—you love figuring out how to make things work

  • Can communicate goals, expectations, and results very very very clearly.

  • Use Google Sheets. But really. Not in the fake way people put it in their skills section.

Is this the right opportunity for you?

  • At Misen your authority will always exceed your responsibility. We rely on defined processes to catch our mistakes but push all employees to take intelligent risks in an effort to continuously improve our customer experience. You must be comfortable taking risks and owning both successes and failures.

  • We achieve great results by remaining informed and moving fast which does not create a “comfort zone” in this or any position. You must be happy to trade comfort for continuous improvement and the satisfaction that produces both for our customers and ourselves.

Misen Core Values:

We make all critical decisions using our core values. No these aren't something we copied, whiteboarded, or paid others to invent. We demonstrated these over 2 years of hard work before we even wrote them down.

If you truly want your authority to exceed your responsibility and embrace our core values (below) we look forward to hearing from you!

  • Belly Fire

    • We lead with expertise + passion + ambition.

    • We’re kitchen obsessives. We nerd out on the details and push ourselves toward innovation.

    • We spread the good vibes. Our attitude is contagious and gives our customers confidence in the kitchen.

  • Fast On Purpose

    • We move and communicate quickly and with intention. If something is important, we do it/say it now.

    • We believe in taking small bets and calculated risks.

    • We respect our customers’ time, and we design products that do the same.

  • The Forest and The Trees

    • We’re equally comfortable in the details and the bigger picture, and consider both when making decisions.

    • We’re CEOs and executors of our roles. We don’t teach or supervise until we can do the work ourselves.

    • We are translators. We show colleagues how our work fits with theirs. We show customers how product specs lead to a better cooking experience.

    • We own mistakes, sharing bad news quickly and with details, then posing solutions.

  • Let Me Show You

    • We don’t work in silos. Both our colleagues and our customers have access to all the information they need to make decisions.

    • We’re all in customer service. We’re the store clerk who takes you to the item you need and shows you exactly how to use it.

    • We show the work. We share direct information sources and we don’t dumb things down.

  • Kindness is Good Business

    • We are forgiving. We know that blame and shame don’t make the work better.

    • We are empathetic. We address customers’ real problems and desires.

    • We don’t troll, but we do have fun. It’s just cookware, after all.

Compensation Range: $120k-150k
