Senior Accountant

These learning solutions include high quality content, technology, teaching and exceptional schools.This position works 2-3 days in our McLean, VA office.As a Senior Accountant supporting efforts you will support the following areas:<ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain the general ledger for Online schools in the state of Ohio</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Complete required state reporting related to the school financials</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work with the Head of School as needed on accounting / reporting issues</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist with accounting setup of new Online schools</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and propose any needed adjustments</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Identify efficiencies in existing processes and propose solutions</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist with putting additional controls and processes in place</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Respond to financial related inquiries in a timely manner</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide essential support during month-end close and the annual school audits</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Engage in special projects</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul><h2>About You</h2>Education:<ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">5+ Years of accounting experience</li></ul>Experience Guidelines:<ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of and proficiency in an ERP system</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">High level of attention to detail and accuracy</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships with all levels</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to perform highly detailed work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;
