THE ROLE: 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for processing accounting transactions, compiling and analyzing financial reports, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and providing ad hoc analyses. This position will have tremendous exposure to all aspects of the accounting cycle. The position requires an individual who has strong experience in revenue, debt and equity technical accounting, general accounting processes and internal controls, and financial analysis tools and techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze significant volumes of subscription revenue for reasonableness

  • Ensure revenue and deferred revenue are properly stated

  • Prepare debt and equity journal entries and rollforwards

  • Process journal entries and other accounting transactions

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts

  • Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger

  • Organize and maintain accounting files and records

  • Perform monthly financial statement analytics

  • Assist with the year-end audit

  • Manage consultants for technical and valuation projects

  • Participate in special projects to improve efficiency of accounting processes

  • Respond to requests for financial/accounting information from all business functions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • SaaS or subscription based revenue experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Knowledge of GAAP principles

  • Intermediate Excel skills

  • NetSuite experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

  • Superior organization skills

  • Focus on managing time well and managing multiple priorities

  • Team player and ability to collaborate with other departments

  • Detailed oriented

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently

  • Ability to adapt in an environment where change is a constant

  • Experience with Stripe and Salesforce are a plus
