We focus on insurance products for the self-storage industry but are rapidly expanding our suite of services. We believe traditional commercial insurance can be distributed faster and cheaper. To do that, we’ve brought the entire insurance value chain—distribution, underwriting, and reinsurance—under one roof to drive innovation in an industry that’s ripe for change.

To support this growth, we’re hiring a Senior Accountant. This position will not only own significant scope within the growing Accounting/Finance team, but also have the opportunity to impact cross-functional work across the organization.

About the Role

This accounting role will provide key support to various finance functions by implementing systems, software, processes, and procedures.

To drive our mission forward, this role will:

  • Uphold financial controls: Maintain robust systems to oversee all accounting transactions

  • Ensure timely reporting: Assist in producing accurate monthly financial statements on schedule

  • Streamline invoicing: Guarantee prompt and precise client invoicing processes

  • Manage collections: Facilitate payment collection efforts and accurately apply client payments

  • Reconcile accounts: Complete balance sheet reconciliations within established deadlines

  • Ensure compliance: Adhere to local, state, and federal reporting, audit, and tax filing requirements

  • Develop processes: Collaborate with Senior Accounting Manager to draft SOPs and accounting policies for efficiency

  • Engage stakeholders: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

About You

We’re looking for a well-organized and steadfast problem solver who loves to learn and grow in their craft. The Senior Accountant must be able to work with sensitive and confidential information, so trustworthiness is important, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills as we work in a team-oriented environment.

You’ll bring these skills and strengths:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Business or accounting degree; CPA, Chartered Accountant, or public accounting experience preferred

  • High level of proficiency with Excel, experience with Sage Intacct, Metabase, FloQuast, Quickbooks Online, Ramp, and Rippling preferred

  • Experience with multi-entity operations

  • Strong focus on client service

  • Desire to work in an in-person or hybrid work environment

  • Ability to adapt to priority shifts and fast-paced environment while working autonomously and collaboratively
