Senior Account Manager - Public Relations

Role Description: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to lead earned media execution across a portfolio of B2B clients. You’ll work closely with our founder to translate communications strategy into highly targeted, editorial-forward media outreach. You’ll own day-to-day media relations while helping clients build long-term credibility with journalists, trade publications and business media.

What You’ll Do

• Develop media strategies and editorial calendars for B2B clients.
• Research, identify and develop relationships with journalists across trade, business, national, and regional media, as well as podcast hosts.
• Distill complex corporate data and information on topics (such as workplace design blunders, ergonomics, and health equity legislation) into compelling narratives and story angles that reporters can instantly verify and investigate.
• Write customized and highly personalized media pitches.
• Utilize and expand existing evergreen storybanks, matching raw client testimonials and executive data with current national news trends.
• Secure interviews, contributed articles, op-eds, expert commentary and feature opportunities.
• Manage media outreach, follow-ups and interview coordination, from start to finish.
• Draft briefing materials, messaging documents and other forms of outreach collateral, as needed. 
• Identify speaking, award, and thought leadership opportunities.
• Participate in client meetings and provide strategic communications counsel.
• Accurately maintain and update live media pitch trackers, monitor media leads, and provide regular placement updates to the Principal.

Requirements

We’re looking for a professional who is naturally curious, intellectually rigorous, and genuinely enjoys understanding complex industries. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting clients in sectors such as facilities management, commercial real estate, construction, hospitals and healthcare, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, fulfillment and supply chain, workplace operations, retail, enterprise technology or other B2B industries. You need to be based in the United States.

You should have:

• 5+ years of public relations experience, preferably within an agency environment.
• Demonstrated success securing earned media in trade, business, and national publications.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Experience managing multiple client workstreams simultaneously.
• Confidence communicating directly with senior executives.
• A thoughtful, proactive approach to media relations.
• And you read trade publications because you’re genuinely interested in how industries evolve—not just because they’re on your media list.

We’ll be especially excited if you have one or more of the following:

• Previous experience as a B2B journalist or editor.
• Existing relationships with business or trade journalists.
• Experience working with founder-led and growth-stage brands. 
• Experience supporting healthcare, workplace, built environment or industrial clients.
• Familiarity with media databases and PR software, including HubSpot.
• Familiarity with newswire distribution platforms such as PR Newswire, EIN Presswire, and iCrowdNewswire.

You will work closely with Lanecraft Lab’s founder, a former news editor and PR agency leader with more than 20 years of experience across leading national and international business and trade publications and engagement for clients like the UK Government, Meta, and the World Bank. You will be trusted with substantial ownership of earned media programs and expected to bring strong editorial judgment, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and lateral thinking.
