Position Purpose
The Senior Account Manager plays a crucial role in executing Missouri's Health Information Exchange (HIE) initiatives, particularly leveraging the Velatura Integrated Technology Platform (VITP), an HIE solution which enables trusted data sharing across the healthcare landscape. This strategic professional is responsible for managing stakeholder relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and serving as a key liaison between operational/technical teams and Missouri healthcare stakeholders. This role requires deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, federal regulations, clinical workflows, financial incentives, and operational processes to demonstrate the value proposition of the VITP to the market. The position will work closely with the stakeholders to ensure they integrate the VITP into their organizational processes to realize its full potential, facilitate improved outcomes, and reduce provider burden. This role is also responsible for gathering and documenting detailed requirements from healthcare organizations and managing the change order process to ensure proper scoping, pricing, approval, and implementation of technical modifications. By facilitating cross-functional collaboration, the Senior Account Manager ensures that operational changes are properly scoped and sustained through appropriate documentation, training, and performance measurement across Missouri's healthcare ecosystem.
Duties and Responsibilities
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key Missouri healthcare stakeholders including hospitals, health systems, clinics, payers, and state agencies
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned prospect and customer accounts
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to understand needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities
- Create and deliver executive presentations to demonstrate VITP value and ROI to stakeholders
- Represent Velatura at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings across Missouri
VITP Platform Expertise
- Develop comprehensive understanding of all VITP capabilities, features, and roadmap items
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of platform updates, new functionality, and use cases
- Identify innovative applications of VITP to address customer challenges
- Collaborate with product teams to understand technical limitations and possibilities
- Become a trusted advisor on how VITP can solve healthcare interoperability challenges
Business Development and Growth
- Identify sales opportunities to expand VITP utilization within existing customer participant organizations
- Develop account growth strategies aligned with customer and organizational goals
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Missouri healthcare market
- Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to position VITP effectively
- Create and strengthen strategic partnerships to enhance service offerings
Stakeholder Advocacy and Liaison
- Serve as the key liaison between Missouri healthcare stakeholders, prospects and customers, and Velatura's operational/technical teams
- Advocate for customer needs within the organization
- Facilitate effective communication between all parties to ensure alignment of expectations
- Translate technical concepts into business value for stakeholders and vice versa
- Ensure stakeholder requirements and feedback are properly communicated to internal teams
Requirements Gathering and Solution Alignment
- Gather and document detailed requirements from healthcare organizations
- Work with stakeholders to identify how VITP can address their specific needs
- Analyze disparate operational processes across stakeholder organizations
- Communicate stakeholder needs to technical teams to inform solution design
- Ensure proper scoping and approval of technical modifications
Value Realization and Adoption
- Drive adoption and utilization of HIE services throughout Missouri
- Assist stakeholders in integrating VITP into their organizational workflows
- Monitor adoption metrics and help stakeholders maximize value from the platform
- Identify and document success stories demonstrating VITP's impact
- Develop strategies to overcome adoption barriers within stakeholder organizations
Healthcare Expertise Application
- Apply understanding of healthcare interoperability standards in stakeholder conversations
- Leverage knowledge of clinical workflows to identify VITP integration opportunities
- Align VITP capabilities with stakeholders' regulatory compliance needs
- Stay current on healthcare IT trends, regulations, and best practices
- Provide industry expertise to stakeholders navigating the complex healthcare data landscape

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Technology or related field
- 4-7 years of experience in the health care industry, business analysis, or process improvement
- Strong understanding of the Missouri healthcare landscape and healthcare interoperability standards
- Demonstrated success in account management, sales, and business development
- Strong analytical and investigative problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Technology
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified associate in project management) certification
- Experience with HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare data standards implementation
- Prior experience working specifically with Missouri healthcare organizations or state health initiatives
- Knowledge of Missouri state healthcare regulations and payment models
- Background in healthcare consulting or healthcare technology vendor management
- Proven track record of business development and revenue growth in healthcare technology
- Experience with healthcare analytics or population health management
- Strong understanding of value-based care models and healthcare quality improvement methodologies
- Prior experience working with government agencies and public health organizations
- Background in healthcare privacy and security compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST)
- Training or certification in healthcare interoperability standards
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder healthcare technology initiatives
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and integration capabilities
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with flexible working hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM).
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required to attend conferences and industry events to stay up-to-date on product innovation.
