This is a senior client leadership role within a highly specialized medical communications environment, focused on driving strategic publication programs across pharmaceutical and biotech accounts. The position combines account leadership, scientific collaboration, and business development, requiring both strategic vision and hands-on execution. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, guide client strategy, and ensure the delivery of scientifically rigorous, high-quality medical communication outputs. The role also involves developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, key opinion leaders, and medical associations. Accountabilities:- Lead end-to-end management of assigned client accounts, ensuring high-quality delivery across all medical publication and communication activities.
- Manage, mentor, and develop account teams while fostering collaboration across internal scientific, editorial, and project management functions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech clients, as well as external stakeholders such as key opinion leaders and medical associations.
- Oversee project budgets, financial tracking, forecasting, and reconciliation across assigned accounts.
- Drive new business growth within existing accounts through proposals, presentations, and strategic client engagement.
- Ensure client satisfaction by proactively managing expectations, resolving issues, and maintaining consistent communication.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to allocate resources effectively and support operational efficiency.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on account performance, financials, and growth opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in life sciences, healthcare, or business strongly preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in medical communications, publications, or scientific marketing environments.
- Proven experience managing teams within a medical communications or publications agency.
- Strong understanding of scientific and clinical concepts with the ability to quickly interpret and apply technical information.
- Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development within healthcare or pharma accounts.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience mentoring and developing professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
