The SAP Technical Lead will provide technical leadership for enterprise resource planning initiatives, guiding the design, delivery, and optimization of complex SAP solutions. This role plays a key part in modernizing business processes through architecture, migration, integration, and performance improvements. The position partners closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure successful implementation and ongoing system reliability. The ideal candidate will bring deep SAP expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience managing large-scale transformation efforts. Accountabilities:The SAP Technical Lead is responsible for leading technical strategy, solution delivery, and operational excellence across enterprise SAP initiatives. This role combines architecture expertise, project leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to enhance system capabilities, security, and business outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership across complex SAP projects, guiding teams through planning, design, implementation, testing, and delivery.
- Architect and implement SAP solutions aligned with business requirements, technical standards, and long-term system strategy.
- Support ERP migrations, including SAP S/4HANA initiatives, data migration, system harmonization, and integration activities.
- Perform configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and performance analysis across SAP environments.
- Lead SAP security activities, including user administration, role management, access controls, and data integrity practices.
- Establish technical standards, documentation practices, quality assurance processes, and solution governance.
- Analyze business requirements, evaluate solution options, and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with business teams, IT stakeholders, project managers, and external partners to deliver successful outcomes.
- Coordinate vendors, consultants, and technical resources while ensuring service-level agreements and project objectives are achieved.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and development support to technical team members, including SAP ABAP resources.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, prepare executive-level presentations, and communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Train end users and IT teams on new technologies, processes, and system capabilities.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have extensive SAP technical expertise combined with strong leadership, communication, and project delivery experience. The role requires the ability to operate effectively across technical and business environments while managing complex enterprise initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience in SAP and enterprise technology environments.
- Extensive experience with ERP migrations, including SAP S/4HANA implementations and transformation programs.
- Strong expertise in SAP solution design, data migration, system integration, and technical architecture.
- Experience supporting SAP modules, configuration activities, and enterprise application optimization.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, portfolio management, and organizational change management practices.
- Experience participating in PMO structures, business steering committees, or enterprise governance models.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and executive presentations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Experience leading technical teams, mentoring professionals, and coordinating cross-functional delivery efforts.
- Preferred experience with additional ERP platforms such as Oracle EBS or JD Edwards.
- Preferred experience with financial planning and consolidation solutions, supply chain systems, manufacturing execution systems, or similar enterprise technologies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain required government security clearance eligibility.
