This role is responsible for owning the end‑to‑end sales compensation administration process and ensuring commission plans and quotas are implemented accurately, consistently, and in alignment with company financial objectives.</p><p>The ideal candidate brings strong critical‑thinking skills, a passion for data, and experience investigating and resolving complex compensation inquiries.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Administer monthly and quarterly sales commission programs with a focus on accuracy and timeliness</li><li>Own the full sales compensation administration lifecycle, including:</li><ul><li>Quota validation and uploads</li><li>Commission plan setup and maintenance</li><li>Commission calculations, payouts, adjustments, and manual incentives</li><li>Managing and resolving sales compensation inquiries</li></ul><li>Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies through detailed data analysis</li><li>Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, and HR to ensure alignment and smooth execution</li><li>Maintain thorough documentation of commission plans, policies, and procedures</li><li>Ensure commission plans and quota structures support business goals and align with company financial objectives</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, controls, and reporting</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years of experience in <strong>sales compensation or commission administration</strong>, preferably within the <strong>software or technology industry</strong></li><li>Strong data analysis and data manipulation skills; ability to work confidently with large and complex data sets</li><li>Demonstrated experience populating commission payments and supporting accurate payouts</li><li>Strong investigative and critical‑thinking skills, with experience resolving data discrepancies</li><li>Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage recurring deadlines</li><li>Effective communicator with the ability to explain compensation outcomes clearly and professionally</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with sales compensation or CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, or similar)</li><li>Familiarity with quota management processes and sales performance reporting</li><li>Experience supporting fast‑growing or global sales organizations</li></ul><p><strong>Why You’ll Enjoy This Role</strong></p><ul><li>Full ownership of the sales compensation administration process</li><li>High visibility and regular collaboration with Sales, Finance, and Operations leadership</li><li>Opportunity to apply analytical and investigative skills to real business challenges</li><li>Ability to make a direct impact on sales performance and motivation</li></ul><p>Career growth opportunities within a mission‑driven, cybersecurity‑focused organization.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$80,000</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$105,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Black Duck considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender preference, national origin, age, disability, or status as a Covered Veteran in accordance with federal law.
