The Role
The Safety Manager plays a critical role in supporting and executing safety programs across the QC Ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Safety Director, this role focuses heavily on field inspections, safety compliance, education, and incident investigations while supporting broader safety initiatives across the ecosystem.
This role exists to ensure safe, compliant job sites while also serving as an educational and developmental resource for field teams—helping workers understand not just what the safety requirements are, but why they matter.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct regular field safety inspections across assigned project sites, prioritizing locations with recurring safety concerns.
- Ensure job sites are compliant with OSHA, EM 385, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies.
- Support incident and accident investigations in partnership with the Safety Director, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Review and audit field-generated safety documentation for compliance and accuracy.
- Assist with onboarding-related safety training assignments and ongoing workforce training compliance.
- Educate field teams on proper safety procedures, PPE usage, and best practices, emphasizing continuous improvement.
- Support development, implementation, and auditing of written safety programs (e.g., LOTO, Fall Protection, Confined Space).
- Partner with the Safety Director to report site-level findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Travel to project sites (approximately 75%), which include short-term site visits (1–3 days).
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety and/or critical infrastructure construction safety.
- OSHA 30 certification (required).
- OSHA 510, EM 385, and NFPA 70E certifications — or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 standards and General Duty requirements.
- Experience with:
- Incident reporting, inspections, and investigations.
- Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSAs) and exposure assessments.
- Root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Safety audits and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to clearly communicate safety expectations in the field and build trust with project teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Background instructing, supervising, or mentoring teams on safety practices.
- Familiarity with safety standards in government, municipal, or mission-critical environments.
- Experience reviewing subcontractor safety compliance and documentation.
Travel & Physical Requirements
- Approximately 75% travel to active job sites.
- Ability to conduct on-site inspections in active construction environments.
