At Optro, we inspire each other to innovate and are proud of what we are producing. We are all about assisting each other and breaking through barriers to create the most loved audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec platform by our customers. This is how we have become one of the 500 fastest-growing tech companies in North America for the seventh year in a row, as ranked by Deloitte!

Why This Role is Exciting

Optro is seeking a detail-oriented accounting staff for a temporary and part-time revenue role. As part of this engagement, you will join a high-growth SaaS company as a member of the order-to-cash team to help drive the revenue reporting process. You will be the bridge between our sales operations and financial reporting, ensuring every deal is captured accurately and aligns with revenue recognition standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of US GAAP (we will bring you up to speed on the specific technical applications) and will support the day-to-day operations of our revenue function to ensure consistently smooth and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed review of SaaS sales contracts, occasionally working cross-functionally with sales to understand and accurately assess terms/deliverables; apply appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP

  • Determine whether contracts are single- or multi-element. For multi-element contracts, verify Standalone Selling Price (SSP) of these contracts against the appropriate pricebook, and ensure accurate revenue allocation

  • Review the system-generated monthly revenue schedule for above contracts and allocations

  • Reperform Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) calculations to ensure accuracy, and validate that they align from the contracts to multiple reporting systems

  • Provide consistent, timely updates to the Revenue Manager and Senior Manager regarding deal queue, ongoing tasks, and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with Revenue and other accounting team members on ad hoc special projects that support the broader goals of the Accounting department

  • Assist in month-end closing activities and analysis as needed

  • Able to commit to a 4-5 month contract starting in May/June and ending in October

Attributes for a Successful Candidate (Please list 5-6 must-have qualifications here)

  • Currently pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (CPA candidacy a plus)

  • Foundational understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced setting

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • High proficiency in Excel

Compensation Range

  • $33-$40 per hour

At Optro, we provide a fair and competitive salary based on a variety of factors, including:

    • The scope and responsibilities of the role

    • Your relevant skills, experience, and certifications

    • Where you are physically located (based on our regional tier system)

Note on Internal Ranges: While the range above reflects our current budget for this hire, Optro maintains broader internal salary grades to allow for future career growth and merit-based increases within the role over time.

Our Company Values

  • Customer obsession: It starts and ends here. Consistently ask yourself how what you’re doing creates value for our customers. It’s a mindset.

  • Gritty resilience: Make it happen. Find a way. Move fast, stay positive, and do what it takes.

  • Drive innovation: Create the future. Continuously improve what exists and invent what’s next.

  • Win, together: One team. No silos, no egos. Drive to be the best and support each other’s success.

  • Growth mindset: 10x, not 10%. Think in orders of magnitude, not increments. Seek feedback, learn, and improve.

Please note that background checks are required. Qualified Applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for Employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. This role may have access to highly sensitive data, including employee data, customer data, company financials, and proprietary product information.

We love building strong partnerships, but please note that Optro cannot accept unsolicited resumes from agencies. Any submissions without a signed agreement in place will not create a fee obligation.
