In this role, you will support retirement plan administration and client service operations, ensuring accurate processing of pension-related data and compliance with Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System (MTRS) requirements. You will work closely with internal teams and external clients to manage monthly reporting, resolve discrepancies, and support retirement contribution processes across multiple systems. This role is well-suited for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with regulatory and payroll-related data. It also offers exposure to retirement systems and ongoing opportunities to build expertise in benefits administration.

Accountabilities:
  • Process and manage monthly MTRS exception reporting for charter school clients, including importing reports from payroll systems and distributing key outputs to stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve retirement-related discrepancies, including pensionable earnings, eligibility issues, and salary calculation corrections.
  • Support retirement contribution reporting and tracking for 401(k), 403(b), and other retirement plans, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Maintain internal tracking systems by entering, prioritizing, and managing work items in alignment with service timelines and operational priorities.
  • Provide general administrative and client service support, including assisting with special projects and handling urgent retirement-related issues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in administrative support, HR operations, payroll, benefits administration, or retirement plan processing is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive data and ensure accuracy in reporting and calculations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with tracking systems, spreadsheets, and general business software tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining responsive to team needs.
  • Willingness to learn retirement systems, regulations, and ongoing compliance requirements.

Benefits:

  • Hourly compensation: $22.00 per hour
  • Company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage
  • Medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending/health savings account options
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Additional voluntary benefits including critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, legal and identity protection, supplemental life insurance, and pet benefits
  • Generous paid time off
  • Remote work arrangement
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
