Research Associate, Biology

Location:  This position may be performed remotely, but requires the flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.The Opportunity:We are seeking a curious, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Research Associate to join our growing neuroscience team. This role will support the execution and analysis of EEG-based experiments, manage internal knowledge resources, and contribute to cross-functional program teams through clear data communication. The ideal candidate combines technical fluency in electrophysiology, biomarkers and signal process with a passion for continuous improvement and collaboration.  Primary Responsibilities:EEG Experimental Workflows<ul><li>Execute EEG-based experimental workflows for signal processing in support of electrophysiological biomarker discovery under the guidance of senior scientists.</li><li>Analyze EEG datasets using the Persyst platform to identify seizures, inter-ictal discharges, pharmacodynamic signatures, and other functional abnormalities.</li><li>Implement and maintain MATLAB-based pipelines for EEG analytics, including spectral power (e.g., time-frequency) and more advanced analyses (e.g., connectivity, entropy, fractal dimension), to extend internal capabilities.</li></ul>Praxis Intelligence Library Ownership<ul><li>Curate a centralized library of relevant publications, posters, presentations, and public-domain datasets.</li><li>Ensure all resources are properly tagged, versioned, and searchable to support competitive intelligence and cross-functional access.</li><li>Support the development and maintenance of AI-powered search functionality to enhance usability and access for the broader team.</li></ul>Data Reporting & Communication<ul><li>Maintain a meticulous electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) and generate concise data summaries in multiple formats (e.g., slides, reports, PowerBI dashboards, WorkBoard tiles).</li><li>Develop tools and interfaces to facilitate the communication of complex datasets across teams.</li><li>Present regular updates and data readouts to Discovery and Development Program Teams.</li></ul>Process & Vendor Coordination<ul><li>Monitor study timelines, track sample logistics, and manage reagent inventories to ensure on-time execution.</li><li>Assist in contract submission and lifecycle management, including new SOWs, amendments, and renewals via the corporate contracting system.</li></ul>Continuous Improvement<ul><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Identify and propose tools, automations, or methodological improvements to streamline data capture, analysis, and knowledge sharing.</li><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Stay informed on current CNS literature and share relevant findings that may influence project direction or strategy.</li></ul> Qualifications and Key Success Factors<ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a related field with 4+ years relevant experience.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Hands-on experience with EEG data acquisition and analysis; familiarity with Persyst and MATLAB is strongly preferred.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize and present technical information.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">A collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a drive to improve systems and processes.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Requires travel to Boston ~3–4 times per year for project deep-dives, training sessions, and company meetings.</li></ul> Compensation & BenefitsAt Praxis, we believe that taking care of our people (and their people) is important, so we provide a world class benefits package to help you thrive.  This includes 99% of the premium paid for medical, dental and vision plans.  We also provide company-paid life insurance, AD&D, disability benefits, and voluntary plans to personalize your coverage. Thinking about the future?
