Remote Mortgage Underwriter

In this role, you will play a crucial part in evaluating and analyzing mortgage loan applications, determining borrower creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise will impact the overall efficiency of the loan origination process, supporting clients in their financial journeys. As part of a dynamic team, you are expected to maintain a high standard of service and contribute to our partner's mission of personalized banking solutions.

• Underwrite a minimum of three new loan files per day.
• Review, analyze, and clear updated and conditioned loan files within required turn times.
• Maintain mandated turn times for new submissions, resubmissions, and condition reviews.
• Monitor and respond to scenarios within required timeframes.
• Provide underwriting and eligibility support to other departments as needed.
• Underwrite various loan products in accordance with company policy.
• Perform reviews of condominium projects for eligibility determinations.
• Analyze loan documentation and data for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and assess credit, income, asset, and collateral risk factors.
• Review appraisals and collateral documentation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years of experience underwriting agency mortgage loans.
• Experience with Jumbo and Non-Agency products preferred.
• FHA Direct Endorsement (CHUMS) designation required.
• VA SAR/LAPP designation required.
• Housing Finance Agency experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency with Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter and Freddie Mac Loan Product Advisor.

• Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 annually.
• Annual target bonus based on individual performance.
• Possibility to work from various locations across multiple states.
