The Kraken Experience team aims to maximise the impact and value clients get from Kraken and accelerate their business transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with us on helping to drive market transformation, help to drive the development of Kraken’s industry products, move us towards net zero, and support the energy transition.


As a Regulatory Expert focused on the German market, you’ll play a critical role in shaping regulatory landscapes and advocating for policies that support the green energy transition. You will work closely with Kraken’s product and client teams, to understand our technology advocating for pathways that can make a real impact on the energy transition in Germany.


What you'll do
  • You’ll use your knowledge of the German energy landscape to:
  • Lead stakeholder engagement - building and strengthening networks within the energy regulatory community, including maintaining key relationships with regulators, industry bodies, and energy suppliers.
  • Influence policy and regulation - lobbying regulators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to advocate for industry reforms that align with Kraken’s mission of promoting green energy and sustainable technology
  • Carry out market analysis and gather insights - by conducting research and analysing regulatory changes, market trends, and legislative developments in Germany’s energy sector, assessing potential impacts on Kraken and our customers.
  • Provide compliance and strategy support - helping ensure Kraken’s operating model aligns with evolving regulations, providing insights to adapt our technology, products, and services as required.
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration - by working closely with Kraken’s technology, product, and regulatory teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable strategies and product roadmap inputs, ensuring a compliant and competitive market position.


What you'll need
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience within Germany’s energy sector, ideally at an energy regulator, energy supplier, or within an organisation directly influencing policy.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with energy regulation and the fundamentals of the green energy landscape.
  • Strong networking and community-building skills: Proven ability to connect with, influence, and engage key stakeholders, enhancing Kraken’s profile within the German energy market.
  • Passion for energy transformation: A genuine interest in clean energy, sustainability, and the vision for a low-carbon future.
  • Adaptable and collaborative mindset: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment aligned with Kraken’s agile culture.
  • Analytical skills: Competence in analysing policy, regulatory developments, and market trends to anticipate and adapt to changes.
  • Fluency in German and English: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages to effectively liaise with German-speaking stakeholders and communicate across Kraken’s global teams.


It would also be great if you had
  • Experience in lobbying and advocacy: A background in building advocacy strategies, including the ability to lobby on behalf of an organisation or cause.
  • Technical and Industry knowledge: Familiarity with energy market mechanics such as market communication and industry programmes including the smart meter rollout.
  • Understanding of energy technology platforms: Knowledge of digital energy platforms and customer-centric technology solutions.
