Role Summary:

Serving as the senior financial leader on behalf of our clients in new territories for Charter Impact, the Regional Director role is the one most critical to ensuring a clear vision for long-term company growth.  The Regional Director is charged with ensuring the supporting Charter Impact team is highly trained, knowledgeable, versatile, and dedicated to client success in their respective regions.  This will be achieved through establishing best practices and focusing on continuous evolution of our service delivery as well as strong involvement with Charter Impact’s business development team. 


The Regional Director will be given a wide degree of latitude in designing, modifying, and monitoring best and consistent practices to support expansion markets. As such, a wide degree of creativity is expected. As a senior member of the company, the Regional Director will also participate in evaluation of new products and services and monitor achievement of the company mission in their respective region. The Regional Director position is highly visible to Charter Impact clients and must deliver excellence in professional expertise and customer-service in a proactive and positive manner. 

 

This position is remote to candidates based in Texas.


*This position requires up to 25% travel


Responsibilities
  • Management 
  • Train new members to the Charter Impact team to support new markets and regularly monitor ongoing performance 
  • Actively monitor company performance through direct client communication and review of ongoing client feedback, ensuring clients’ expectations are always exceeded both in terms of timeliness and accuracy of information 
  • Hold regular team meetings to collaborate, share, update and synchronize the team’s thoughts, efforts and strategies 
  • Monitor team capacity, ensuring both efficient and high-quality delivery of services  
  • Seek out best practices to ensure a consistent client experience  
  • Streamline workflows to create greater efficiencies within the team through knowledge sharing, work-product development and process improvement 
  • Mentor staff to ensure continued professional growth within the firm 
  • Participate in decision making on growth plans and new markets 
  • Work with Charter Impact organizational leaders and supervisors to support seamless communication across departments  
  • Facilitate buy-in and bolster team morale in a remote work environment 
  • Personify Charter Impact core values at all times and motivate others to do the same 

  • Technical Compliance 
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise on public school finance and disseminate such knowledge to the Charter Impact team 
  • Further Charter Impact’s reputation through participation in conferences and publications as a subject matter expert 
  • Maintain financial modeling tools to support their efficient use by the team 
  • In collaboration with other leadership team members, assist in reviewing software tools and platforms to continue to meet the needs of the Charter Impact team as a whole 

  • Client Management 
  • Support assigned team members and/or hands on support of client financial management 
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with client leadership and staff 
  • When necessary, participate in the business development process, showcasing the expertise Charter Impact, as a whole, can bring to client operations 
  • Assist team in client relations and client expectations conversations, as needed  
  • Evaluate client requests for changes in scope or new services to ensure client satisfaction and alignment with company mission. 
  • Participate in the business development/new client acquisition process 
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Master's degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desired.
  • 10 years of finance/accounting experience, a portion of which includes oversight and development of staff.
  • 5 years of experience in charter school finance and operations.
  • Non-profit finance and accounting experience.
  • Experience in a professional service firm, such as a CPA firm, is a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant is highly desired, but not required.
  • Ability to maintain, encourage, and participate in a close and highly collaborative team environment with both Charter Impact clients and internal staff.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-starter – able to prioritize and multi-task without daily direct supervision.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct or other similar Non-Profit Accounting systems.

$135,000 - $150,000 a year
This position has a base salary of $135,000 - $150,000 annual, with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance, business needs and business results.
