This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a QA Automation Tech Lead in United States.

In this role, you will lead automation initiatives across web and mobile applications within an Agile environment, driving the creation of scalable testing frameworks and ensuring high-quality product delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies, streamline processes, and accelerate automation adoption. This position requires strong technical expertise in JavaScript and Java-based automation tools, along with the ability to mentor QA engineers and guide testing throughout the full development lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to shape automation standards, implement modern testing technologies, and influence the overall quality strategy in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and execution of automated test scripts, test cases, and test plans.
  • Review business requirements and translate Epics and Stories into effective testing scenarios and automated scripts.
  • Utilize tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Perfecto, BlazeMeter, and others for mobile and web automation.
  • Support the transition from manual testing to automation and execute both manual and automated tests as needed.
  • Oversee testing activities across the full product lifecycle, including planning, execution, reporting, and mentoring team members.
  • Conduct integration, volume, stress, load, and user acceptance testing, as well as non-functional testing when required.
  • Produce regular test status reports and metrics for executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while guiding and developing other QA engineers.

Requirements

  • Strong experience designing test strategies, building automation frameworks, and defining automation standards.
  • Proficiency in Java and JavaScript, with experience using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Perfecto, and Appium.
  • Background in SQL or similar languages, with ability to write complex queries.
  • Experience with REST APIs, web technologies, and JavaScript-based interfaces.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools that enhance automation script development and reduce maintenance.
  • Experience in CI CD environments and Agile Scrum teams, with knowledge of BDD practices.
  • Ability to assess automation scope, coordinate cross-team testing activities, and analyze business and system requirements.
  • Understanding of cloud environments such as AWS or Azure, and experience with tools like Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Software Test Automation Specialist (CSTAS) is a plus.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in test automation and at least 4 years delivering automated test scripts and plans.
