With over 500 payment methods for accessing Bitcoin, USDT, and other popular digital and local currencies, Paxful is building a financial system allowing all users to participate in the digital economy.

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of Paxful’s platform, including web applications, mobile apps (iOS and Android), and backend APIs. This role requires a deep understanding of automation tools, frameworks, and best practices, as well as hands-on experience in creating robust and scalable test suites. You’ll collaborate with developers, product teams, and other QA engineers to integrate automation into the software development lifecycle and enable efficient, high-quality releases.

What will you do:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and backend platforms.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable build verification.
  • Collaborate with developers to identify test requirements, edge cases, and system bottlenecks.
  • Monitor and maintain test environments to ensure stable and repeatable results.
  • Analyze test results, debug failures, and provide detailed feedback to engineering teams.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the automation framework for scalability and coverage.
  • Build and maintain test suites for native mobile applications (iOS and Android) using tools like Appium or Espresso.
  • Automate testing for backend APIs using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or Swagger.
  • Design UI automation for web applications using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter or Gatling to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Ensure test data and environments are managed efficiently and securely.

Who you are:

  • A self-starter with a passion for automation and quality.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative and communicative, thriving in cross-functional team environments.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in test automation for web, mobile, or backend systems.
    • Proficiency in at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Kotlin.
    • Ability to write clean, reusable code for test scripts.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
    • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or similar systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API testing and automation tools.
    • Ability to validate API responses, performance, and integration workflows.
  • Understanding of test management tools and defect tracking.
    • Experience with Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.

Recommended Skills:

  • Experience with mobile-specific automation tools like XCUITest (iOS) or Espresso (Android).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and benchmarking tools.
  • Familiarity with blockchain or cryptocurrency-related platforms is a plus.
