We're seeking a Publishing Operations Specialist to head up and streamline the publishing of editorial content across a variety of client CMS environments. This role combines editorial operations and technical automation, ensuring that content is accurately published, either manually or via automated pipelines. across a diverse set of platforms including WordPress, Webflow, Contentful, Sanity, Strapi and others.
You’ll work directly with our Content Managers and Managing Editors to ensure publishing is efficient, timely, and error-free. You’ll also own the development of publishing automations for CMSs that support API-based workflows. This is an ideal role for someone who combines editorial production expertise with a builder’s mindset.
Own the full publishing pipeline for content created by our editorial team
Publish articles across a dozen+ CMS platforms, each with unique formatting and workflow needs
Troubleshoot formatting, access, metadata, and link issues across platforms
Set up and manage publishing automations using APIs or tools like our internal tools, or external tools like Make.com, Zapier, N8N or GitHub Actions
Build and maintain documentation on platform-specific workflows and publishing requirements
Create QA systems and SOPs to ensure consistent formatting and quality across all published content
Collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to manage publishing timelines and updates
Stay current on CMS platform changes and proactively adjust workflows and automations
Must-Haves
3+ years of experience in a content production, editorial operations, or publishing role
Familiarity with APIs or no-code automation tools for publishing (e.g., Make, Zapier)
Hands-on experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Contentful, or Sanity
Experience publishing structured content and troubleshooting formatting issues (HTML, Markdown, CMS blocks)
Strong attention to detail and a system-oriented mindset
Ability to manage deadlines across a high volume of deliverables and stakeholders
Experience working with headless CMSs
Basic scripting or data structuring skills (JavaScript, Python, or JSON)
Familiarity with SEO metadata and structured data fields
Background in a client services or multi-brand content environment
Percentage of content published on-time with no formatting or metadata errors
Reduction in manual publishing steps over time (automation coverage)
Number of supported platforms with documented publishing SOPs
Internal team satisfaction with publishing reliability and turnaround
