One of our portfolio companies is seeking experienced Proposal Managers to join our AI-enabled proposal writing service as part-time contractors. As a Proposal Manager, you'll be the primary point of contact for our SMB clients, responsible for ensuring successful delivery of high-quality, winning proposals. This contract role combines client relationship management, project coordination, proposal editing/formatting, and quality control to deliver exceptional RFP responses for our clients.

This is a flexible, project-based contract position where you're compensated per proposal completed at $50-$100 / Hour.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Lead client onboarding and kickoff meetings for new customers
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients
  • Communicate proactively with clients through all proposal phases
  • Respond to client inquiries within 24 hours per our SLA
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for client renewals and upsells

Proposal Management

  • Source relevant RFP opportunities for clients using our automated tools
  • Manage multiple proposals simultaneously from intake to submission
  • Oversee proposal development process including content creation and revision
  • Ensure all proposal submissions meet RFP requirements and deadlines
  • Coordinate with our AI systems to produce and refine proposal drafts
  • Perform final quality review of all deliverables

Production & Documentation

  • Handle document preparation, formatting, and packaging
  • Create professional design elements and visual enhancements
  • Ensure branding and style guide compliance
  • Prepare submission packages according to client and RFP requirements
  • Maintain detailed records in our project management system

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience as a Proposal Writer and/or Manager
  • Experience with RFP, proposal writing, or government contracting
  • 2+ years in customer success, account management, or related client-facing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and design tools like Figma or Canva
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Available to work on a flexible, project basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • APMP Certification
  • Background in customer success for B2B SaaS or services
  • Experience working with AI tools or content automation
  • Graphic design skills or experience with design software
  • Knowledge of procurement processes
  • Previous experience as an independent contractor or freelancer
