This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Project Finance Underwriter in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, large-scale projects across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and public-private partnerships. You will assess the financial viability of projects by analyzing cash flows, risks, and repayment structures, ensuring that projects can sustain themselves independently of a borrower’s broader balance sheet. The position involves underwriting complex project finance transactions, creating detailed financial models, and supporting credit documentation and structuring. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights for lending decisions, while developing expertise in sophisticated project finance structures. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with challenging and rewarding projects. On-site travel may be required to various U.S. locations, including Crystal City, Virginia.

Accountabilities:
  • Conduct thorough credit assessments and risk evaluations for project finance opportunities, including multi-party and long-term projects.
  • Underwrite new and existing project finance transactions, performing cash flow modeling, scenario analysis, and risk identification across the project lifecycle.
  • Support structuring and documentation efforts, including term sheets, covenants, and risk mitigants tailored to project-based lending.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide actionable insights and recommendations for credit decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial models, projections, and reporting for ongoing monitoring of projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or project finance.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and scenario planning.
  • Experience evaluating complex, multi-party projects, including infrastructure, energy, and public-private partnerships.
  • Completion of a credit training program and familiarity with credit documentation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (2016 or later).
  • Ability to travel as required to U.S. project sites.
  • Strong ability to work in a high-paced team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of USD $150,000–$250,000 per year.
  • Opportunities to work on high-profile, large-scale projects with strategic impact.
  • Exposure to diverse sectors including infrastructure, energy, and P3 projects.
  • Professional development and training opportunities in project finance and credit analysis.
  • Collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Flexible work environment, with some travel as required.
