About the role

Position Dates: June 23rd, 2025 to July 23rd, 2025 (including Saturdays)

Position Overview:  The Project Coordinator role is a temporary onsite position overseeing the vendor management aspect of one or more furniture installations. Furniture installations typically last 15-30 days, depending on how much furniture has been ordered and how much needs replaced, or extracted. They also must be done according to strict timelines and onsite time restrictions, meaning time is of the essence. But never fear… The Turn Company is here to guide you through our process! Review the information below to learn about the requirements and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator role.

You will be assigned to an installation project and begin training with the Project Manager and possibly the onsite management team and the manufacturing team. Training will consist of learning the installation process for your assigned community, software training on Entrata or other property management platforms, the documentation and tracking process, coordinating with the deliveries and onsite teams, and vendor oversight and quality control for the new furniture being installed.

What you'll do:

  • Kick-Off: Furniture installations usually start with a furniture delivery truck arriving and labor crews are assigned to unload the furniture. Tasks include inspection of delivered items, inventory tracking, unboxing, assembly, placement, extraction, and trash removal. Project Coordinators oversee labor crews executing the unloading, assembly, placement, and trash removal to ensure they stay on schedule.
  • Software & Technology: Basic use of Google Sheets, email, and document management is required. Training will be provided for any assigned forms, files, and trackers. Project Coordinators will track the status of bedrooms and units using Google Sheets or a similar tool.
  • Installation Workbook: Tracking furniture installation progress is critical. Project Coordinators will log into the Installation Workbook to update the status of completed tasks. If tasks are incomplete or of poor quality, contractors will be called back. Onsite management may check completed tasks and provide additional instructions.
  • Onsite Coordination: Regular communication with the onsite teams, delivery drivers, labor crews, and manufacturer team members is essential. Project Coordinators oversee contractors and communicate any issues. They also rely on management for updates on delays, damaged items, unit access and changes to the placement list. Communicate any issues or concerns to the Project Manager.
  • Vendor Oversight: Project Coordinators ensure contractors arrive on time, have adequate crews, and complete tasks. They inspect the quality of work, call back contractors if necessary, and address issues with onsite management or manufacturer. Finally they ensure the installation crews are properly attired and moving furniture safely through the building, avoiding injury to themselves or others, and damage to the walls, doors, elevators, sprinkler heads, etc.
  • Post-Install Inspection: After all deliveries and installation is complete, Project Coordinators complete unit inspections to ensure all items have been placed in their correct unit and bedspace or common area, update the Installation Workbook with final notes, and take photos of furniture in place. Any issues or change orders that arose need to be included on the Installation Workbook. This feedback helps improve future projects.
  • Occupied Bedrooms & Common Areas: Only enter occupied bedrooms with an onsite team member. Maintain professionalism with residents and their families. Equipment is provided by onsite management or Project Manager. Stay hydrated, wear your Turn Company shirt, and follow safety instructions. Enjoy the work and stay organized for a fulfilling experience.
