Position Summary: As the Product Manager for Payments, you will act as the product team lead for payments initiatives, ensuring successful definition and delivery of the PatientNow payments roadmap. This will require cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization to deliver a truly integrated payments experience that both delights practices and supports their revenue growth strategies.

 

In this role, you will own: discovery with customers; creation of requirements that align to user needs; ideation with design/UX to produce designs and prototypes; collaboration with tech teams to ensure successful delivery of defined requirements; coordination with internal stakeholders including product marketing, sales, marketing, service delivery, and support to bring new payments capabilities to market.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer and other product leaders to translate PatientNow business strategy to payments product strategy and product roadmap
  • Act as primary point of contact for relationships with processors and card brands, ensuring alignment on compliance requirements, contract terms, and financial benefits
  • Conduct customer discovery, including on-site visits, virtual interviews, or ideation/design workshop sessions to elicit feedback and uncover customer pain points
  • Define requirements for payments feature enhancements or net new capabilities, including writing of user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Conduct ideation sessions with user experience/design counterparts to produce high-fidelity mock-ups and workflows
  • Where needed, conduct Alpha or Beta testing to gather more in-depth customer feedback in advance of go-to-market and launch of new features
  • Partner with ScrumMasters to track progress of payments roadmap delivery, while monitoring risks and advocating for support where needed throughout the process
  • Coordinate with product marketing and other internal stakeholders to successfully execute on new payments feature or product launches
  • Enable go-to-market efforts by participating in webinars, thought leadership, or other activities as needed 
  • Create business cases or other analyses in partnership with finance to support payments growth, as needed
  • Collaborate with product marketing on payments-focused competitive and market analyses, to ensure strong internal understanding of the payments landscape and differentiation opportunities
  • Partner with internal compliance subject-matter experts to maintain ongoing understanding of PCI compliance requirements, while reporting out status of compliance initiatives regularly
  • Partner with customer-facing teams where needed to address customer enhancement requests, payments-related defects, or other escalations that require resolution
  • Support continued growth of company-wide payments expertise by acting as an payments subject-matter expert and conducting internal enablement or other educational sessions where needed

Education/Experience:

  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Experience wireframing and prototyping, rapid prototyping and other design tools
  • Experience conducting discovery to gather and consolidate requirements through discussions with customers and cross-functional internal stakeholders
  • History of writing user stories with acceptance criteria for the software development life cycle
  • Experience in business optimization, problem-solving, or strategic solution roles with progressive responsibility, preferably within the elective medical industry
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet constantly changing timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional process and organizational skills with the ability to mobilize change
  • Familiarity with the SDLC, Jira, Kanban, Confluence

Supervisory Responsibilities:
