As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical strategy and architecture of core platforms while leading and mentoring development teams. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technology aligns with business goals and delivers high-quality, scalable solutions. This role combines hands-on development with strategic oversight, allowing you to influence both immediate software delivery and long-term technology direction. You will work in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your contributions will have a direct impact on platform performance, security, and the overall user experience.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with business and technology leadership to define and execute strategic technical vision.
- Design, develop, deploy, and operate high-performance, fault-tolerant integrations with internal and third-party systems.
- Lead enhancements and improvements to core software platforms, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Proactively address security, compliance, and regulatory requirements to minimize vulnerabilities.
- Advocate for an improved customer experience by implementing metrics and processes for ongoing evaluation.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams, supporting leadership hiring and technical growth initiatives.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices to inform platform evolution.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience or 8+ years in a modern statically typed language (Java, Scala, Go, etc.).
- Proficiency with Salesforce, MuleSoft, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS, and cloud computing services.
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms with the ability to translate technical solutions for business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guiding development teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both with executives and technical teams.
