This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to improve system performance, reduce operational risk, and embed reliability best practices across teams. You will design and implement automated workflows, guide incident response, and influence architecture to ensure services meet availability, latency, and performance goals. • Lead incident management and retrospectives, driving systemic reliability improvements across product workstreams.
  • Own cross-cutting platform concerns such as observability, monitoring, alerting, performance, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Partner with engineering leadership and product teams to embed reliability best practices into design, planning, and delivery.
  • Automate detection, resolution, and recovery for recurring production issues to reduce operational toil.
  • Evaluate and introduce technologies, frameworks, and practices that enhance reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Mentor engineers across levels, cultivating SRE skills and reliability mindset organization-wide.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software or systems engineering experience, including 5+ years in SRE or reliability-focused roles.
  • Proven leadership in influencing reliability practices across multiple teams or domains.
  • Strong experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI/CD, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Deep expertise in observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Node.js/JavaScript, or similar) and scripting for automation.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Preferred: Experience in high-throughput, regulated industries (fintech, payments, banking), event-driven architectures, mentoring senior engineers, and advanced cloud/reliability certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, SRE Foundation).

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation range: $181,700 – $201,000
  • Bonus programs and 401(k) match
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
  • HSA and FSA options, financial wellness resources
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage; mental health support via Lyra Health
  • Family planning and women’s health benefits
  • Gym membership reimbursement and virtual wellness programs
  • 3 weeks PTO to start, unlimited PTO after year one
  • Education expense reimbursement and leadership development programs
