This role is a senior-level opportunity focused on leading complex program controls activities across large-scale, mission-critical government and defense projects. You will be responsible for managing financial performance, cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and risk analysis across the full project lifecycle.
You will work closely with program managers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment between financial planning, execution, and contractual requirements.
The position requires strong analytical capability and deep expertise in project controls, enabling accurate reporting and proactive decision-making.
You will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, improving forecasting accuracy, and supporting strategic program execution.

Accountabilities:- Manage full program lifecycle financials including planning, tracking, forecasting, invoicing support, accruals, and month-end close activities across various contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost-Plus).
- Perform variance analysis, identify financial and schedule deviations, and support change order management with detailed impact assessments.
- Develop and maintain financial models including EACs, ETCs, revenue recognition models, and cost and burn rate analyses.
- Collaborate with program management, contracts, billing, and operations teams to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare monthly forecasts, quarterly business reviews, and deep-dive reporting including revenue, profit, cash flow, and risk analysis.
- Manage project risk registers, identifying, quantifying, and mitigating risks while determining appropriate contingency planning.
- Apply earned value management principles and support project scheduling, cost tracking, and performance measurement activities.
- Oversee subcontractor and client invoicing processes while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and project governance standards.
- Maintain and improve project controls systems, ensuring data accuracy, transparency, and process efficiency across reporting structures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10 years of experience in project controls, program controls, or related financial/project management roles.
- Strong experience with cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and financial analysis in complex project environments.
- Familiarity with federal contracts and large-scale infrastructure or construction projects is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools; experience with Costpoint or similar systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Primavera or other scheduling tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
