This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Platform/Software Engineer based in the United States.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role shaping the architecture and delivery of modern healthcare SaaS platforms.
You will provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, full-stack engineering, DevOps, and production-grade AI capabilities.
The role combines strategic architecture with hands-on development, including autonomous AI agents, LLM workflows, and multi-agent systems.
You will lead complex technical initiatives, guide engineering teams, and influence platform and architectural decisions across the organization.
Working closely with executive and cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate business priorities into secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions.
You will also champion automation, modern SDLC practices, continuous improvement, and responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
This is an opportunity to have broad technical influence in a collaborative, remote environment while helping evolve critical healthcare technology.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the strategic design, development, and maintenance of scalable, secure, resilient software applications and platforms, ensuring functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Provide technical leadership for autonomous AI agent integrations, LLM workflows, and multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
  • Build and champion production-grade CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices using AWS technologies and tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Guide senior engineers through technical execution, comprehensive code reviews, architectural decisions, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex engineering challenges.
  • Develop high-quality, performant, maintainable software across user interfaces, backend services, APIs, integrations, and supporting technologies.
  • Lead large-scale technical initiatives by defining scope, estimating complex work, managing milestones, and coordinating delivery across engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, product teams, security, operations, and other stakeholders to establish priorities, requirements, timelines, and technical strategies.
  • Ensure solutions meet healthcare industry standards, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal architecture and governance practices.
  • Provide technical direction across teams, influencing engineering standards, platform strategy, architecture, and technology decisions without requiring direct people-management authority.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain accountability for sprint commitments, SDLC execution, engineering quality, and delivery outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through emerging technology adoption, AI-enabled engineering practices, knowledge sharing, technical upskilling, and process optimization.
  • Contribute to talent acquisition and team development through interviewing, candidate evaluation, mentoring, goal setting, performance feedback, and associate development.
  • Troubleshoot complex distributed systems through advanced diagnosis, debugging, dependency analysis, and collaboration across technical teams.
  • Where applicable, support environments involving legacy mainframe and mid-tier technologies while helping teams modernize and integrate these systems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of technical leadership involving teams, projects, or large-scale initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud and DevOps engineering, with deep hands-on experience in AWS, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying Agentic AI models, autonomous AI agents, LLM workflows, or multi-agent systems into production environments.
  • Strong full-stack engineering capabilities spanning user interfaces, middleware, backend services, APIs, integrations, and related technologies.
  • Advanced understanding of modern software architecture, design patterns, scalability, resiliency, security, performance optimization, and non-functional requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies including networking, compute, storage, databases, middleware, systems management, and security.
  • Proven experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with AWS expertise strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC governance, modern software engineering practices, and iterative delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives, estimate work, manage milestones, remove architectural bottlenecks, and deliver against strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and critical-thinking skills, particularly within complex or distributed systems.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, coaching, and stakeholder-management capabilities, with the ability to influence senior engineers, executives, and cross-functional partners.
  • Comfortable working within complex matrixed organizations and balancing technical excellence with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable with emerging technologies, evolving requirements, continuous improvement, and AI-enabled engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology standards, security expectations, and regulatory requirements is valuable.
  • Experience with legacy mainframe or mid-tier technologies such as COBOL, ALC, DB2, and file utilities is preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely and use a workstation for extended periods during the workday.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
