The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment, excels at solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about creating scalable, maintainable, and high-performance mobile applications. This role combines strategic thinking, operational excellence, and mentorship, making a measurable impact across the mobile ecosystem and the broader engineering organization.

Accountabilities:

  • Establish and enforce best practices for mobile development, including performance optimization, crash reduction, and stability management.
  • Lead feature parity and ongoing maintenance across platforms, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery.
  • Enhance developer experience by optimizing build, test, and release cycles in collaboration with platform engineering teams.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies, libraries, patterns, and React Native architectures to maintain a modern, efficient platform.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority and liaison, communicating complex concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on mobile development and scaling large-scale applications.
  • Expert knowledge of React Native, Expo, and associated mobile ecosystems.
  • Deep understanding of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) platforms, including build tools, store submissions, and bridging native modules.
  • Proven experience in mobile performance optimization, including startup time, bundle size, memory usage, and perceived performance.
  • Mastery of mobile architecture, including state management, navigation, event-driven architecture, and reusable component design.
  • Strong functional programming knowledge and principles.
  • Operational excellence with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and developer experience improvements.
  • Familiarity with mobile observability, crash reporting, and stability management tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Bugsnag).
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring senior engineers, influencing technical roadmaps, and making high-stakes architectural decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical topics to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary ($180,000–$210,000) with equity compensation.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexible home office support.
  • 100% employee coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • $500 annual professional development allowance.
  • Equipment for home office setup, including laptop, high-resolution monitor, and stipend.
  • Monthly cell phone and internet reimbursement.
  • Flexible time-off policy and company-wide wellness days.
  • Annual in-person offsites and team-building events.
  • Discount on all platform bookings.
  • Inclusive, diverse, and collaborative work culture.
