This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Data Manager I in the United States.

This role provides an opportunity to lead data management activities for complex clinical trials, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely deliverables. You will act as the primary point of contact for data management communication and oversee the execution of database design, testing, and data validation processes. The position combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership and oversight, guiding project teams and mentoring junior staff. You will collaborate with clinical teams, sponsors, and external partners, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project timelines. This role is critical to enabling efficient trial operations and delivering reliable clinical data that supports decision-making and regulatory submissions.


  • Accountabilities:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for data management timelines, deliverables, and technical or procedural issues.
  • Perform or oversee hands-on data management tasks, including database design specifications, user acceptance testing (UAT), and data transfer documentation.
  • Review, query, and resolve clinical trial data from multiple sources including medical coding, adverse events, and external data.
  • Plan, manage, and execute data processing and validation activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain Data Management Plans (DMP) and Data Quality Review Plans (DQRP).
  • Provide training on electronic data capture (EDC) systems, dataflow, and quality control processes to clinical staff and stakeholders.
  • Participate in project kick-offs, investigator meetings, and regular project team meetings, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Manage post-go-live database modifications and coordinate with Quality Assurance for audits.
  • Contribute to departmental improvement initiatives, staying current with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Requirements:
  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical trial data management.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical trial data management concepts, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage data management activities across multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Proficiency in ensuring data integrity, validation, and quality control within electronic data capture systems.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining DMPs, DQRP, and database validation checks.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership in coordinating teams and integrating data management with overall clinical operations.
  • Experience with third-party data management and global clinical trial processes.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial standards, conventions, and best practices for regulatory compliance.
