This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Azure (Architect Track) in United States.

This is a high-impact, senior-level opportunity to take full ownership of a complex cloud infrastructure environment and shape its long-term architecture. You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, designing secure, scalable systems while driving operational excellence across production environments. Working closely with executive leadership and distributed engineering teams, you will define best practices, elevate infrastructure standards, and ensure reliability at scale. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, making it ideal for someone who thrives in ownership-driven environments. You’ll contribute directly to platform performance, security, and innovation in a fast-evolving SaaS ecosystem. This is a chance to influence critical infrastructure decisions while building systems that support global growth and resilience.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and evolve the end-to-end cloud infrastructure architecture across development, staging, and production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions, improving governance, consistency, and deployment efficiency across systems.
  • Establish secure cloud foundations, including identity and access management, network segmentation, and compliance-aligned security controls.
  • Lead infrastructure strategy for multi-tenant and single-tenant environments, including regional deployments and data residency considerations.
  • Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, and system reliability improvements, ensuring high availability and operational excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvements in monitoring, logging, alerting, and disaster recovery capabilities, including validated RTO/RPO processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, setting standards, reviewing designs, and guiding execution.
  • Optimize infrastructure performance, cost efficiency, and scalability while maintaining strong governance and documentation practices.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or cloud security roles, with proven ownership of production systems.
  • 4+ years of deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in SaaS or cloud-native environments.
  • Strong expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Bicep, including module design and governance.
  • Proven ability to design cloud architectures from the ground up, including networking, IAM, and security best practices.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and system resilience (RTO/RPO).
  • Strong understanding of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and monitoring solutions.
  • Experience designing infrastructure for multi-tenant platforms and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) and implementing compliance controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary package aligned with experience and location
  • Flexible remote work environment with strong autonomy
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous paid time off and flexible vacation policy
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions
  • Professional development and certification support
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and shape infrastructure strategy
  • Exposure to modern cloud technologies and large-scale systems
  • Collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture
