This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining and executing enterprise-wide cloud strategy and architecture across a large-scale organization undergoing full cloud transformation. You will serve as the top cloud authority, shaping the target-state architecture and guiding the migration from legacy on-premise systems to a secure, scalable, and fully cloud-based environment. The role combines hands-on architectural leadership with strategic governance, ensuring cloud platforms are resilient, cost-efficient, and aligned with business objectives. You will lead cross-functional initiatives spanning infrastructure, identity, security, networking, and enterprise applications while mentoring engineering teams. This position plays a critical role in modernizing systems, improving operational maturity, and enabling long-term digital transformation. It is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on enterprise technology direction and execution.
AccountabilitiesYou will define, govern, and execute the enterprise cloud architecture strategy while leading transformation initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud adoption across all systems and environments.
- Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture standards, reference models, landing zones, and governance frameworks
- Own the cloud transformation roadmap, including migration strategy, target-state architecture, and operating model design
- Architect and oversee secure, highly available, and resilient Azure-based solutions supporting business continuity and disaster recovery
- Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers, providing architectural direction, design review, and technical guidance
- Establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation standards using tools such as Terraform, Azure CLI, and PowerShell
- Drive cloud migration and modernization efforts, including assessment, planning, execution, and system rationalization
- Design and govern identity, access, networking, and security models across cloud and hybrid environments
- Ensure compliance with cloud security, data protection, backup, and operational resilience standards
- Lead enterprise application modernization and integration across distributed systems and platforms
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams to implement CI/CD, observability, and reliability best practices
- Oversee cloud financial management, including cost optimization, forecasting, and governance
- Support post-merger and acquisition integration, including infrastructure assessment and cloud alignment
Requirements
You bring deep experience in cloud architecture and enterprise-scale Azure environments, with a proven ability to lead transformation initiatives, guide technical teams, and design secure, scalable cloud platforms.
- 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or architecture roles, including 5+ years in senior or lead architecture positions
- Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture, design, and enterprise-scale implementation
- Proven experience leading cloud transformation from on-premise or hybrid environments to cloud-first or cloud-native models
- Deep knowledge of Azure landing zones, governance, policy management, and enterprise cloud operating models
- Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks, identity management (Entra ID), zero trust architecture, and RBAC
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell, or Ansible
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, Git workflows, and cloud observability practices
- Strong background in networking, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and enterprise integration patterns
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring technical teams
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale infrastructure integration is highly valued
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
