About This Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for our diverse workforce. This 18-week contract role requires expertise in payroll tax reporting, compliance, and employee support, with a focus on maintaining data integrity and optimizing payroll systems. The ideal candidate is proficient in multi-state payroll regulations, skilled in Dayforce payroll software (preferred), and committed to delivering a positive employee experience.
Project Scope & Duties- Payroll Processing: Accurately process employee payroll, including hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees, ensuring timeliness and precision.
- Tax Reporting: Manage payroll tax reporting and compliance, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Compliance: audit payroll data to maintain full compliance on deductions/reimbursement.
- Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, resolve discrepancies, and ensure a positive employee experience.
- Audits and Reconciliations: Assist with payroll audits, ensure accurate payroll records, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Software Management: Use and optimize Dayforce, ensuring data integrity and efficient processing.
Qualifications and Skills- Proven experience in payroll processing and payroll tax reporting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations in a multi-state environment.
- Proficiency with Dayforce payroll is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Availability to commit to the full contract duration of 18 weeks.

Details & Rate- This position is a full-time, temporary, independent contractor role.
- We are looking for availability during Pacific Time business hours (though you can physically be located anywhere).
- Hourly rate of $35 - $40 USD, depending on experience.
