Role Summary
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, maintenance of employee payroll data, and support of payroll‑related compliance and audits. This role also serves as a primary contact for payroll‑related employee inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Process employee multi-state payroll accurately on a regular schedule (biweekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Maintain employee payroll records and employee data
- Manage state tax rate updates and coordinate with state agencies as needed/ Ensure accurate tax withholdings
- Handle employee A/R items related to personal charges on corporate cards, including obtaining written authorization for payroll deductions
- Review and manage employee reimbursements through Rippling
- Respond to payroll‑related employee inquiries
- Assist with documentation and support for annual workers’ compensation, financial, and Form 5500 audits
- Provide adhoc administrative support as needed to address payroll-related reconciliations and requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting, HR, or business preferred
- Proven experience in payroll or accounting roles
- Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks)
- Strong numerical and data entry skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of tax regulations and labor laws
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

Compensation
Starting at $26/hour plus 5% annual bonus
