<p><strong>Lab Summary:</strong></p><p>The team handles various intellectual property matters, including intellectual property litigation, patent acquisition, anti-counterfeit/brand enforcement, patent licensing, and intellectual property policy/outreach.&nbsp; Our talented attorneys and professionals have worked on some of the largest and most complex matters, and we are excited to be bringing on someone new</p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>Samsung seeks a talented <strong><em>junior to mid-level</em></strong> litigator to manage a docket of patent infringement matters out of our Mountain View location.&nbsp; As a part of this team, you will be tasked to own and solve problems.&nbsp; You will be at the forefront of federal court practice along with the potential of being a part of grounding breaking patent law issues.&nbsp; In addition, this lawyer will have the opportunity to work on non-patent intellectual property matters, including Samsung’s anti-counterfeit/brand enforcement efforts. &nbsp;If you are interested in continuing your career in a dynamic, enriching, and collegial environment, please come meet us!&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage high exposure patent litigation matters</li><li>Oversee the preparation of witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial</li><li>Formulate winning litigation strategies and tactics</li><li>Assist in drafting and reviewing briefs, motions, and court pleadings</li><li>Manage litigation fees and costs</li><li>Coordinate internal document collection and production</li><li>Advise management and internal teams on impactful issues</li><li>Assist with anti-counterfeit/brand enforcement matters</li><li>Attend industry conferences to gain insights and network with peers</li></ul><p><strong>Experience Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Juris Doctorate and licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualify to register as California in-house counsel or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience</li><li>5+ years’ experience of patent litigation at a law firm and/or as an in-house counsel</li><li>Broad range of patent litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, arguing dispositive motions, jury/bench trial, arbitration and mediation, investigations before the International Trade Commission, PTAB-related proceedings, and experience before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit</li><li>Proven written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to formulate successful litigation strategies</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team consisting of members from different regions, countries, and business units, including the ability to be diplomatic and culturally sensitive</li><li>Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability</li><li>Openness to feedback, actively seeks constructive criticism, and integrates it to continuously improve performance</li></ul><p><strong>Special Attributes:</strong></p><ul><li>Professional references with whom we can ask about your experiences</li><li>Background in engineering</li><li>U.S. Patent and Trademark Office admission</li><li>Federal judicial clerkships</li><li>Ability to converse in Korean</li><li>Regularly enjoys pho</li></ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">Our total rewards programs are designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training.
