As a Partner Operations Manager, you will lead and develop a team of approximately 10–12 Partner Operations Associates and Senior Associates supporting critical healthcare operations. You will combine people leadership, operational oversight, coaching, and performance management to ensure consistent, high-quality customer outcomes. Working closely with operational leads and senior leadership, you will help shape staffing, training, workforce planning, and organizational development. You will monitor team performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and address challenges proactively. A limited individual caseload will keep you connected to day-to-day workflows and evolving payer requirements. This role is ideal for a people-focused healthcare operations leader who thrives in a changing environment and is comfortable balancing established processes with AI-powered technologies.
Accountabilities- Recruit, manage, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10–12 Partner Operations Associates and Senior Associates, including professionals supporting prior authorization workflows.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, feedback sessions, and career development conversations to support employee growth and accountability.
- Participate in hiring activities, including interviewing, candidate evaluation, selection, and onboarding of new team members.
- Partner with Lead Partner Operations Associates to improve team quality, productivity, operational consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a limited personal caseload of approximately 25% of working time to remain familiar with operational workflows and changes in payer requirements.
- Monitor team performance metrics, identify trends and coaching opportunities, and implement actions to improve individual and team performance.
- Manage scheduling, paid time off, attendance, and day-to-day employee support while maintaining appropriate operational coverage.
- Address performance concerns directly and develop appropriate performance improvement and development plans when needed.
- Ensure consistent execution of operational standards, workflows, and quality expectations across the team.
- Support organizational change management and the adoption of new technologies, helping team members adapt to evolving workflows and tools.
- Escalate staffing, performance, or operational risks to senior Partner Operations leadership and contribute to solutions that protect service quality and team effectiveness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations or a closely related healthcare environment.
- 2+ years of experience leading, managing, or supervising operational teams.
- Proven experience coaching employees through performance management, professional development, and continuous improvement.
- Experience interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and developing team members.
- Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations and the workflows that support healthcare administrative processes.
- Familiarity with prior authorization operations or similar healthcare administrative functions is valuable.
- Experience working with athenahealth and/or NextGen is preferred.
- People-first leadership approach with the ability to develop employees while maintaining clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Strong ownership mentality, with the ability to take responsibility for team performance, quality, and operational outcomes.
- Coaching-oriented communication style, with the ability to explain processes clearly, develop capabilities, and encourage independent problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality and consistency across a team.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills when working with employees, managers, providers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Adaptability and comfort moving between manual operational workflows and AI-powered tools as processes and technologies evolve.
Benefits
- Base salary range of $85,000–$95,000 USD.
