Compensation & Benefits


Hourly part time (under 30 hours) for 120 days. Upon mutual agreement at the end of the 120 days or earlier, this position will convert to a full time salaried position.


Two (2) weeks vacation annually, seven (7) personal days annually, employer contributions to health, dental, and vision insurance, and employer 401K match and profit sharing.


Job Description


The Permit Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the permitting process for sign installations, ensuring all local, state, and federal regulations are met. This position works closely with municipalities, property owners, landlords, clients and internal departments to obtain timely approvals and ensure full compliance with applicable sign codes and ordinances. In addition, the Permit Coordinator bestows a positive and encouraging attitude to support our clients’ vision and the team’s involvement.


Role Responsibilities

  • Research and interpret local sign codes, zoning ordinances, and permit requirements for various jurisdictions
  • Collect, prepare, submit, and track permit applications for all signage projects, including site plans, drawings, and engineering documents
  • Coordinate with city/county planning and permitting departments to ensure smooth approvals
  • Serve as the liaison between design/production teams and municipalities to communicate regulatory requirements and changes
  • Obtain landlord/property management approvals where applicable
  • Maintain accurate records of permitting activity, correspondence, fees, and status updates
  • Ensure all signage designs comply with relevant codes before submission
  • Manage inspection schedules and support the resolution of code compliance issues
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and trends affecting signage permitting
  • Provide inter-department feedback based on customer needs and market demand

Qualifications


Applicants must be prepared to:

  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Reach, push, pull, bend, squat
  • Drive (have valid driver's license)
  • Ascend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs
  • Read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Work outdoors in cold or hot weather
  • Wear personal protective equipment, when required (e.g. safety glasses, hard hats)
  • Work in loud environments
