We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations on a part-time basis (10–15 hours per week). This role is ideal for someone who can manage payroll processes efficiently and independently, with a strong preference for candidates experienced with Rippling.


What You'll Do

  • Payroll Processing: Execute bi-weekly multistate payroll for 140+ employees using Rippling.
  • Data Management: Maintain employee records, including new hire setups, terminations, salary adjustments, and tax elections. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information.
  • Compliance: Ensure all payroll activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Benefits & Deductions: Oversee the integration of benefits, 401(k) contributions, and other deductions within the payroll system.
  • Reporting: Generate payroll reports for the finance team and assist with year-end processing (W-2s, etc.). Assist with payroll reporting and account reconciliations
  • Inquiry Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding paystubs, taxes, or timesheets.
  • Tax & Agency Management: Maintain state payroll tax accounts, including filings, payments, and agency correspondence, ensuring compliance across all applicable jurisdictions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, and benefits. Support year-end payroll activities (e.g., W-2 preparation)
  • Time & Attendance Verification: Review and verify timesheets; resolve discrepancies with managers as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of multistate payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with Rippling highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools
