Position Overview
The Panel Management & Credentialing Associate is responsible for managing all aspects of provider contracting, recruitment, credentialing, primary source verification, onboarding, and ongoing panel maintenance across Nonsubscriber, WC 504, 1305, and specialty programs. This role will report to Director, Panel Management.
This role ensures timely network growth, adherence to internal SOPs, and accurate, on schedule delivery of all client required panel and credentialing updates. The position collaborates closely with the Contracting & Credentialing team, the Credentialing Department, Special Reports, Interventions/Training, ARC, NCMs, and Client Services, as well as external partners including clinic managers, providers, diagnostic and ancillary facilities, and TPA representatives.
Key Responsibilities
Contracting & Network Development
Conduct provider recruitment for primary care, specialists, diagnostics, and ancillary facilities.
Identify panel coverage gaps (distance, depth, compliance, client requests).
Perform outreach to prospective clinics, information gathering, and screening activities.
Maintain provider notes, recruitment logs, and prospective provider files.
Coordinate contract drafting, tracking, and execution.
Add approved clinics/providers into internal systems for activation.
Credentialing & Primary Source Verification
Request, collect, and validate all credentialing documentation.
Conduct primary source verification through required licensure boards.
Submit complete credentialing packets to Credentialing Department.
Maintain credentialing spreadsheets and manage provider updates.
Ensure accurate documentation for monthly client deliverables and billing.
Provider Onboarding & Training Coordination
Coordinate provider and clinic in-services.
Schedule training sessions and ensure distribution of required materials.
Support onboarding documentation and system setup.
Panel Management & Ongoing Maintenance
Maintain accurate clinic and provider profiles.
Monitor and communicate provider adds/terms.
Manage poster mailouts and departmental notifications.
Conduct internal reviews of clinic assignments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Familiarity with credentialing compliance sources.
Strong communication and engagement skills.
Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven assignments.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Preferred Experience and Credentials
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college coursework or vocational training in healthcare or business is helpful but not required.
Relevant on-the-job experience may substitute for formal education.
