This role blends technical expertise, content creation, and community advocacy, with opportunities to speak at conferences, lead workshops, and produce high-quality technical content. You will work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Istio, Envoy, and AI frameworks while collaborating closely with engineering and product teams. Accountabilities:

  • Engage with open source communities, industry partners, and standards bodies to drive project adoption and growth.
  • Serve as a liaison between user needs, market trends, and product/project development initiatives.
  • Act as a technical advisor to customers and prospects, providing guidance on adoption, integration, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to incorporate community feedback and improve project usability and impact.
  • Promote user success through case studies, technical content, and active community participation.
Requirements
  • 2+ years as a software engineer with hands-on technical experience.
  • 6+ years creating technical content (blogs, workshops, videos, conference talks).
  • 5+ years leveraging social platforms (LinkedIn, X, Bluesky) to share technical insights.
  • Experience contributing to or managing open source communities.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, connectivity, security, service mesh, Kubernetes, Istio, and agentic AI systems.
  • Strong ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Experience with multiple open source tools and standards, such as NetworkPolicy, MCP, ADK, or A2A protocols.
  • Bonus: Experience with Envoy, Kubernetes Gateway API, or other service mesh platforms.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary with potential bonuses or equity participation.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off, parental leave, and wellness programs.
  • Retirement savings plan and professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible remote-first work environment with occasional travel (10–30%).
  • Opportunities to engage with a vibrant open source community and influence the direction of emerging technologies.
