The strategic sales role is an essential role for Planar – As Planar engage in the prospective rental and staging market. This role encompasses a core role, growing rental partners, consultants, end-users, and other key influencers and decision-makers that have interest in Planar/Leyard LED products, building business strategies and facilitating market growth. This is an essential role growing the business model and strategy for Planar in the rental and staging market.
The role has several key factors that need different skill sets to achieve.
Product Management/ Business Management
- This Critical role requires the ability to set up a business strategy and execute with new partners, you will be responsible for identifying team members, understanding their strengths and weaknesses and develop a plan to engage the rental and staging market to generate income.
- You will need to manage the inside sales support and Salesforce data entry to ensure projects are logged and confirmed.
- You will need to be in control of price negotiation with partners for cases where price adjustment is needed – for clarity the standard Planar Salesforce price book is to be used and normal is considered standard dealer pricing – escalations from this will be as deemed by management.
- The role requires product guidance and support – this will need strong technical understanding of our products and the application they will go into.
- This role requires negotiation and support of Planar, utilizing your skill sets you will identify the best route for different projects and manage those teams. You will likely be needed to problem solve potential challenges and overcome with diplomacy.
- You will need to develop your business plan to achieve the required revenue targets, this plan needs to identify a clear strategy on how you will achieve this plan, the tools you will need to deploy this plan and a requirement list to overachieve plan.
Product development supporting Product management and R+D teams
- As time allows, your active participation in guidance and opportunities based on product evolution
- Feedback of competitors products
- Recommendations of future product and projected revenue
- Engagement with factory to support your role – technical information
Market knowledge
- As a fresh market it is essential to capture as much detail as possible, this means ensuring our Salesforce database is up to date
- You will have a ‘live’ document mapping the market with key players both people and companies.
- You will identify and develop relationships with key designers – these will also be identified on the market map.
- You will develop market presentations together with the team to present Planar/Leyard Rental.
- We will require from time to time for you to drive marketing campaigns and ideas – supporting the growth of the market.
Key account Management
- You will manage key accounts in their entirety – managing fixed installation and rental projects by engaging either supporting teams or developing yourself – depending on application. This requires a strong leader, as you may need to manage several people in a project.
- Your role will need to identify key people at various companies and actively engage them to grow business.
- You will be responsible for special promotions and activities with these partners
- As part of the key account set, you will be the prime leader in these accounts and will need to engage with global peers as you drive the success.
- You will need to wide knowledge of products within Planar and peers to support your growth.
Requirements
- English language – native speaker or a high proficiency level
- Relevant education related to sales, business, administration, or a technical field
- Interest in technology, ability to learn and interpret product specifications
- At least 5 years of business experience in rental and staging industry
- Technology sales experience is an advantage
- Very good communication skills are of high importance
- Business-oriented mindset and work precision
- Superb administration and follow-up skills
- Ability to handle very dynamic and fast work
- May need to work overtime or odd hours occasionally if necessary
- This role is a remote position that requires extensive business travel
- Must have a valid drivers license and use of a personal car that is properly insured
