As a Mortgage Underwriter with Banner Bank you will apply the underwriting standards adopted by the Board of Directors, Investors, Agencies, and all regulatory and/or policy requirements.
In this role you'll have the opportunity to:- Responsible for underwriting residential loan applications to ensure compliance with Investors, Banner Bank Portfolio, all secondary marketing conduits and private mortgage insurance companies.
- Facilitate and support all loan production staff in matters of residential underwriting.
- Assist loan officers and processors with origination of complex and/or problematic loans.
- Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
Education & Certifications- H.S. Diploma: required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience- 4 or more years of experience in mortgage underwriting required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Intermediate knowledge of 1-4 family loan underwriting guidelines, including all loan types/programs.
- Possess strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills with the ability to work within defined timeframes and make deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office products including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to underwriting.
Compensation & Benefits- Targeted starting hourly range (based on experience): $27.09 - $35.69
