About the Role
Flatiron School is seeking experienced Software Engineering professionals to serve as Mock Technical Interviewers. In this contractor role, you’ll help Flatiron students sharpen their technical interview skills by conducting practice interviews via Zoom and providing supportive, individualized feedback.

Contract, 1099 Vendor Agreement
Responsibilities
- Maintain up to 5 hours of open availability per week for mock technical interviews.
- Conduct interviews following the standard format: 45 minutes of technical interview practice, followed by 15 minutes to document feedback (60 minutes total).
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise in key Software Engineering topics, including (but not limited to):
- Front-End Development
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Responsive Design
- SQL Queries
- APIs & RESTful Design
- Deliver clear, constructive feedback to help students identify areas of strength and improvement.
- If a student does not attend after 10 minutes (“no-show”), document the no-show according to Flatiron’s guidelines.
- Submit completed Mock Technical Interview Rubric within 24 hours of each session.
- Maintain professionalism and timely communication with students and Flatiron School staff.
Payment
- $50 USD per completed and submitted Mock Technical Interview (including feedback).
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering or related fields.
- Previous experience conducting technical interviews (real or mock) preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a supportive, coaching-oriented mindset.
- Reliable internet connection and proficiency with GoogleMeets.
- Ability to commit to submitting feedback within 24 hours of each session.
