Quindar is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer to support the development and deployment of integrated satellite ground systems for both commercial and government customers. This role plays a critical part in enabling complex space missions by understanding technical requirements, devising mission solutions, and conducting system-level integration activities.

As a member of the Mission Architecture team, you will directly drive mission success of Quindar users - owning the integration process from technical planning and customer onboarding through launch and on-orbit operations. You will work closely with the Lead Mission Architect, engineering teams, product managers, and directly with customers to ensure that Quindar’s ground software integrates seamlessly into a mission’s operational picture.

Key Responsibilities

Mission Design & Integration

  • Lead technical integration efforts for customer missions.

  • Deeply understand the technical needs for a customer’s space mission, drive to system deployment and delivery that satisfies the mission needs.

  • Assess and understand customer mission requirements, CONOPS, and interfaces, and align those with Quindar’s platform capabilities.

  • Evaluate product gaps or shortcomings against mission needs and work with product and engineering teams to devise solutions.

  • Support integration of multiple mission assets (spacecraft, ground stations, cloud infrastructure) into a cohesive operational plan.

  • Own the verification and validation (V&V) process across mission threads—commanding, telemetry, automation, and mission-specific analytics.

Customer Engagement & Onboarding

  • Act as a technical point-of-contact for new mission onboarding.

  • Work closely with technical project managers and forward-deployed engineers to ensure mission success.

  • Coordinate customer design reviews, test readiness events, and mission readiness milestones.

Systems Engineering & Cross-Team Coordination

  • Own development of necessary ICDs and requirements verification documentation.

  • Work with software engineering and integration teams to ensure features are deployed to support mission timelines.

  • Provide inputs into the product roadmap based on recurring customer needs across integrations.

  • Ensure architectural consistency across mission types (LEO, GEO, MEO, etc.), including hybrid commercial/gov ops.

Mission Readiness & Operational Handoff

  • Support pre-launch exercises including mission simulations, operator training, and “day-in-the-life” walkthroughs.

  • Create mission support plans, anomaly resolution guides, and escalate mission risks when technical issues arise.

  • Support on-console shifts during early orbit or commissioning phases, as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on systems engineering or mission integration experience in the space domain.

  • Prior experience in design, development, test, and/or verification of spacecraft ground systems.

  • Prior involvement in pre-launch and on-orbit operations of satellite missions (especially with government customers).

  • Familiarity with TT&C architectures and satellite operations software, as well as spacecraft communications and data handling subsystems.

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of cloud-based ground systems and satellite operations automation.

  • Familiarity with scripting or software languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation and system configuration.

  • Experience with containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes); AWS GovCloud is a plus.

Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI required.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent missions with tight deadlines.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and building structure in first-of-kind missions.

  • Strong customer-facing demeanor—able to translate between engineering and end-user perspectives.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
