About Liquid AI

Spun out of MIT CSAIL, we build general-purpose AI systems that run efficiently across deployment targets, from data center accelerators to on-device hardware, ensuring low latency, minimal memory usage, privacy, and reliability. We partner with enterprises across consumer electronics, automotive, life sciences, and financial services. We are scaling rapidly and need exceptional people to help us get there.

The Opportunity

You'll shape how enterprises experience AI customization and deployment through our Leap platform. This isn't a role where you wait for product specs and push pixels. You'll dive into user feedback, identify experience gaps, design intuitive flows for complex ML workflows, and work directly with engineers to bring them to life. We need someone who can turn sophisticated AI capabilities into interfaces that feel simple and inevitable.

While San Francisco and Boston are preferred, we are open to other locations.

What We're Looking For

We need someone who:

  • Owns the problem: You dig into user feedback and data to surface what needs to change, then design and iterate until it's right

  • Moves fast: You time-box exploration, build prototypes quickly, and adapt when requirements shift without losing momentum

  • Thinks in systems: You see beyond individual screens to understand how permissions, states, errors, and edge cases shape the full experience

  • Speaks engineering: You understand frontend constraints (component libraries, design systems) and collaborate effectively with developers

The Work

  • Design intuitive flows for model customization, deployment, and evaluation in Leap Workbench

  • Translate complex ML workflows into simple experiences for non-technical enterprise users

  • Analyze user feedback and usage data to identify and prioritize design improvements

  • Maintain and evolve our design system and component library

  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are implemented with fidelity and iterate based on technical constraints

Desired Experience

Must-have:

  • 4+ years designing complex tools or platforms (developer tools, AI interfaces, or enterprise software)

  • Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and exceptional interaction design

  • Proven ability to translate technical complexity into intuitive, usable products

  • Experience working in fast-moving environments where you iterate based on prototyping and user feedback

Nice-to-have:

  • Frontend development skills (Tailwind, React, or similar)

  • Experience with AI/ML products or data-intensive workflows

  • Background in consumer applications alongside enterprise experience

What Success Looks Like (Year One)

  • You've established design patterns that make complex AI workflows feel approachable

  • Enterprise users can navigate our platform without hand-holding because the UX guides them

  • You're the person the team trusts to turn ambiguous product goals into clear, user-tested designs

What We Offer

  • Define the design language: Shape how enterprises experience next-generation AI interfaces

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary with equity in a unicorn-stage company

  • Health: We pay 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and dependents

  • Financial: 401(k) matching up to 4% of base pay

  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO plus company-wide Refill Days throughout the year
