Prilenia has a simple but urgent mission – to bring transformative medicines to people affected by devastating neurodegenerative diseases. Unwavering in our commitment to scientific excellence, Prilenia is developing pridopidine, a unique, oral, sigma-1 receptor (S1R) agonist investigational neuroprotective therapy for ALS and Huntington’s disease (HD). Partnered with Ferrer for the commercialization and co-development of pridopidine, we plan to start two key late-stage trials to support potential approval globally in ALS and in HD in the first half of 2026.

About the role

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our dynamic Medical Affairs team in the United States. This is a fieldbased role supporting the U.S. and Canada, and reporting to the Executive Medical Director. The MSL will serve as a scientific expert in HD and ALS while building collaborative partnerships with neurologists, thought leaders and multidisciplinary care teams to support Prilenia’s clinical trials and programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • KOL Engagement:

    • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and other stakeholders within the relevant therapeutic areas.
    • Engage in scientific exchange to provide and gather medical and scientific insights.
    • Represent the company at medical conferences, symposia, and meetings to establish and strengthen relationships with KOLs and other stakeholders.

    Scientific Communication:

    • Provide accurate, unbiased, and up-to-date scientific information to healthcare professionals.
    • Present clinical data and scientific information in various forums, including advisory boards, investigator meetings, and educational sessions.
    • Serve as a scientific resource for internal and external stakeholders.

    Medical Affairs Support:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical, Research, Regulatory, Patient Advocacy and Commercial, to provide scientific input and support.
    • Assist in the development of medical strategy and contribute to the execution of Medical Affairs plans.
    • Support Clinical Development initiatives, including site identification and patient recruitment for clinical trials.

    Market Insights:

    • Gather and communicate competitive intelligence and market insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Provide feedback to internal teams on trends and emerging science in the field.
    • Leverage scientific knowledge and KOL relationships to identify opportunities for activities leading to scientific advancement. 

    Compliance:

    • Ensure all activities and interactions comply with applicable local and international regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.


Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education:  Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of reference supported high-performance in a similar MSL role, preferably in scale-up and rare disease environment. Demonstrated experience working with KOLs and understanding of the U.S. and Canadian healthcare systems. Experience in neurology and neurodegenerative therapeutic areas relevant to the company’s pipeline is highly desired.
  • Skills: Strong scientific acumen and ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with CRM tools.


Location/Time Zones:

 

  • This is a full-time, remote position in the US.
  • Expected domestic/regional travel up to 70% with some international travel. Valid driver's license required.
  • Flexible schedule with interactions across North America, Europe and Israel time zones.
