This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Medical Director, Heart Transplant in United States.

This is a high-impact medical leadership role at the intersection of transplant cardiology, clinical innovation, and molecular diagnostics. You will help shape the clinical application of advanced testing solutions used to improve outcomes in heart transplant and heart failure patients. The role combines direct clinical expertise with strategic input into product development, medical affairs, and scientific communication. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including clinical operations, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders to ensure successful adoption of diagnostic technologies in routine practice. With significant influence over clinical strategy, education, and evidence generation, this position plays a key role in advancing precision medicine in transplant care. This is a highly visible role suited for a physician leader who thrives in both clinical and industry-facing environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead clinical development efforts for molecular diagnostic tools in heart transplant and heart failure applications.
  • Design and support implementation of clinical protocols integrating diagnostic testing into transplant care pathways.
  • Identify and engage leading investigators and clinical sites to participate in studies, ensuring timelines and budget alignment with clinical operations.
  • Provide medical expertise to guide product development, including unmet needs assessment, test design, reporting structure, and validation requirements.
  • Support medical affairs activities, including interpretation of test results, physician education, and patient counseling guidance.
  • Drive medical education initiatives to support adoption and appropriate use of transplant-focused diagnostic products.
  • Build and engage key opinion leader networks and participate in medical advisory boards.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and collaborate on publication strategy with scientific communications teams.
  • Provide medical input into regulatory submissions and compliance documentation.
  • Represent the organization in external scientific, clinical, and transplant-related forums and communications.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD or equivalent) degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in transplant cardiology with active patient care responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of transplant and heart failure guidelines and clinical practice standards.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clinical trials within academia, biotech, or related environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience in medical affairs or clinical development, ideally with exposure to transplant therapeutics or diagnostics.
  • Deep knowledge of clinical trial design, protocol development, regulatory frameworks, and statistical principles.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex clinical and molecular diagnostic data.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and scientific storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence key stakeholders including physicians, investigators, and internal teams.
  • Experience with cross-functional project management and multitasking across clinical and strategic initiatives.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and contribute to organizational growth.

Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $221,600 to $277,000 USD.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Life, disability, and additional health-related benefits.
  • Fertility support and family care benefits.
  • Paid pregnancy and parental bonding leave.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with additional financial programs.
  • Generous paid time off and employee referral incentives.
  • Remote work flexibility with approximately 50% travel.
  • Opportunity to shape innovation in precision medicine and transplant diagnostics.
