About Counsel

Counsel’s mission is to multiply the world’s healthcare capacity. We believe in a future in which every person has a personalized, AI-enabled doctor always in their pocket. To accomplish this, we are building an AI-first medical practice from the ground up that automates across the entire clinical stack, allowing our in-house clinicians to provide superhuman care that is near-instant, highly personalized, and always available. We believe that collaborative care models that integrate clinicians and AI are the key to solving global healthcare access challenges.

Since our founding in 2023, we have formed partnerships with leading healthcare organizations, and are on track to serve hundreds of thousands of patients on our platform within the next year. We have raised over $35M from top-tier VC firms, positioning us strongly to pursue our ambitious mission for years to come.

Our team includes experienced clinical and technology experts who have held senior roles at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, UCSF, the MIT Media Lab, NVIDIA, and Mount Sinai.

Join us as we build the future of AI in healthcare!

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Building the Future of Primary Care: Create care protocols, quality and safety frameworks, and operational processes to power the next generation of virtual primary care.

  • Supporting Quality and Safety: Review chat transcripts, give provider feedback and own messaging style for both AI and human providers.

  • Providing Exceptional Care and Medical Advice: Utilize our AI-enabled asynchronous platform to deliver outstanding medical care and advice, ensuring patient satisfaction and driving better outcomes.

  • Innovative Development: Work alongside our top-tier engineers and designers to create best-in-class provider-facing technology.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with an active U.S. medical license (multi-state preferred)

  • Board-certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

  • Telemedicine experience (asynchronous care experience is a bonus)

  • Experience leading primary care clinical programs, including but not limited to quality improvement, clinical operations, or patient experience

You’re a good fit if

  • You’re a role model clinician who enjoys helping patients solve problems, whether those problems are clinical, social or logistical.

  • You are a self-motivated, creative doer who takes ownership of broad initiatives and drives them to completion, navigating ambiguity with ease

  • You thrive on working alongside exceptional teammates and derive energy from collaborative environments

What we offer

  • Impact: An opportunity to be at the vanguard of AI-augmented care delivery.

  • Growth: Professional development and growth opportunities within a rapidly scaling venture-backed company.

  • Culture: A collaborative and innovative work environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.

  • Practice Diversification & Flexibility: Remote, flexible work schedule that incorporates both clinical and non-clinical components.

  • Competitive Compensation & Equity Options: Full-time physicians at Counsel can be structured as a 0.9 or 1.0 FTE. This allows for 2 working days off per month to maintain in-person practice, if desired. We also offer competitive benefits, equity in our growing company, a CME stipend, and malpractice coverage.
