About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Director to lead and grow our mechanical engineering team. This leadership-focused role ensures successful project delivery through strong team management, disciplined execution, and high-quality engineering output.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers
- Assign work, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure deadlines are met
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development
- Conduct performance reviews and develop growth plans
- Ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation
Technical Delivery Oversight
- Oversee engineering deliverables for accuracy and consistency
- Provide technical direction and review final work products
- Support the team in resolving complex technical issues
Project Support
- Collaborate with project managers to support execution
- Attend client and proposal meetings as technical leadership
- Coordinate with other disciplines to maintain project alignment
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
- Manage QA/QC reviews and ensure high quality across projects
- Review calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documents
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- PE licensure preferred or ability to obtain
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience preferred
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work
- Experience managing scope, schedules, and budgets
Compensation and Benefits:
