Manual Tester

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality software solutions in a mission-driven, fast-paced federal environment. The Manual Tester will design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of applications. You will collaborate closely with developers, functional leads, and project managers to clarify requirements, perform testing, and document defects. The position involves both individual testing execution and coordination with cross-functional teams to support User Acceptance Testing and overall project delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in Agile and iterative development environments and is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality results.

• Develop functional testing scenarios and detailed test cases based on specifications.
• Execute tests, log and validate defects, and document outcomes clearly.
• Maintain detailed test records, including DSTRs, test plans, and procedures.
• Assist test leads in defining and refining testing approaches, tools, automation, and documentation.
• Collaborate with federal and contractor functional leads to clarify requirements and scenarios.
• Support User Acceptance Testing and provide timely feedback to developers on bugs and defects.
• Communicate frequently with team members and customers, facilitating discussions and exercising professional judgment.

• 5+ years of IT industry experience.
• Experience testing Java, .NET, Web, SOA, and ETL-based applications.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and multiple SDLC models (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
• Strong skills in SQL, Oracle, MS-Access, and intermediate knowledge of Unix and Windows environments.
• Experience with test planning, test cases, test scripts, procedures, defect tracking, and requirements traceability.
• Ability to read and analyze functional and technical architecture documents.
• Familiarity with Jira/VersionOne or similar requirements management tools.
• Some Java development experience is a plus.
• Momentum system experience (functional and technical) is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical, coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass a Moderate Background Investigation (MBI).
